Hi ya’ll- Shelby here! Founder and primary educator at The Magic Middle. My intrinsic motivation is to help kids find joy in learning, to meet them where they are and take them where they need to be. I have always believed that enhancing a child’s educational development in turn enhances their trajectory to success. All kids have unique learning styles, their very own magic middle, and instead of that leading to being stressed or overwhelmed, I founded The Magic Middle to design personalized curriculum, provide balance and create calm which in turn infuses their individual learning experience with the positivity and joy.
Through my years of experience tutoring children, having my own 2nd grade classroom, achieving my Masters in Education from SMU and special education certifications from a to z- my background is rich with experience to be a catalyst for finding calm as well as success.

It’s my true passion to infuse positivity and joy into learning in an effort to extinguish the isolating feelings created for kids who could benefit from more a personalized educational experience. Children succeeding in school and feeling good about it is a win/win- Kids that are happy and confident in the classroom mean parents are happier and less stressed too. Managing and overcoming learning difficulties can result in meaningful change for everyone. Not just right now, but forever after that.
